CRIS-DU Areopagus

PURPOSE:

• To promote, affirm and sustain the harmonious and holistic development of the human being and of civil society through education and support offered to all social categories, regardless of race, nationality, gender, social class or religion.

Values promoted by CRIS-DU:

• to affirm, promote and sustain human dignity, regardless of race, nationality, gender, social class or religion
• to promote love, justice, liberty and human solidarity
• to affirm the intrinsic importance of all creation (nature, human society, the universe)

The purpose is fullfilled through:

• social work with disadvantaged social groups (children, youth, the aged)
• social work with HIV infected persons
• systemic therapy, counseling and family psychotherapy
• systemic mediation in conflict and crises in structures and institutions
• the study, formulation and promotion of policies for the development of civil society through education and the support of democratic institutions, independent initiatives, and an effective and transparent government
• actions to monitor and implement a human rights regime in conformity with the Universal Declaration on Human Rights
• actions for local community development; environmental protection
• actions to promote the bettering of interethnic and interreligious relations
• lobby-type actions to promote the fundamental values of democracy
• the facilitation of intercultural exchanges, cooperation between various national and international organizations
• the study of social, economic and religious problems in the Southeastern European region and the promotion of a right understanding of the role of democracy in European construction
• the publication, editing and distribution of materials necessary to achieving the purposes of the association
• commercial activities and fund-raising for the purpose of financing the activities of the center
