Kerk in Actie (Church in Action) carries out the global diaconal and missionary work of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PCN). This is done on behalf of the 2,1 million members of the PCN congregations and their committees in the Netherlands. The global ministries of Kerk in Actie are organised in five programme areas: Mission, World Service, Children at Risk, Climate and Emergency Aid. In the Mission programme of Kerk in Actie, ‘mission’ is understood as proclaiming the Gospel as a power and source for good in the lives of human beings. It is about people experiencing liberation, reconciliation and encouragement, both in their lives as individuals and in society.
Each human being has the right to respect and a dignified existence, irrespective of faith, political conviction, race, sex or nationality. Kerk in Actie is working to consolidate these rights, based on our Christian identity.
