Library Policies

If a desired volume is already on loan, on request it may be put on the reserve list and may not be renewed. When the book is returned, the person requesting it will be informed and must come to pick up the book within two weeks.
Materials that cannot be checked out are books designated reference (those with a red dot or green stripe on the spine label) and periodicals. Likewise, books reserved for Areopagus Centre courses (those with a yellow stripe on the spine label) will be available primarily to students enrolled in the course, for a period of three days, and cannot be renewed, with the fine doubled if the book is not returned on time.
Lookups can be made on the computer, since all library materials are inventoried in a database with a number of possibilities for lookup-
If you take books from the library shelves but do not check them out, please leave them on one of the tables in the reading room or in the library. This will help us to keep the books in order so that you can always find them in the right place on the shelf.
To register for a library card, you must present your identity card and, for a student rate, your student ID; pay the annual fee; and respect the library rules.
